Cookie Dough Truffles

I used this recipe, as this is a quick and easy treat to make during this quarantine. My mom always talks about her sweet tooth as a teen in the 80s, and how she could eat so much sweets and to take advantage of our sweet tooth being young. I feel this treat, being a no-bake recipe, is an easy and satisfactory treat to make while in quarantine. I feel that if quarantine happened in the 80s, many people would be snacking, similarly to our scenario now. It is one of my favorites and hoped to share!

For this treat, you are going to either buy edible cookie dough, or create your own edible cookie dough (which comes in handy for my fellow cookie dough lovers), and chocolate chips as ingredients.

To create your own cookie dough, you will need the following:

8 tbsp. unsalted butter (at room temperature)

¾ cup light brown sugar packed

2 ¼ cup all-purpose flour

1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk

1 tsp. vanilla extract

½ cup mini semisweet chocolate chips

1½ lb. semisweet or milk chocolate coarsely chopped (Baker’s chocolate)

Mini chocolate chips for garnish

If you do not need to make your own cookie dough, you will need in addition to the cookie dough just chocolate chips (to melt)

To Make Cookie Dough:

Step 1: You will need to mix both the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl and mix on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, which would approximately take around 2 minutes.

Step 2: Mix in the flour, condensed milk, and vanilla until it is a smooth texture.

Step 3: Add the chocolate chips then mix.

Step 4: Refrigerate the mix until firm. (approximately 30 minutes- 1 hour)

After Cookie Dough is Made:

Step 5: Shape the cookie dough mix into small, individual balls (1-1 ½ inches)

Step 6: Place on baking sheet with lined paper, and once the pan is covered with desired amount of cookie dough balls, transfer to refrigerator to chill (for approximately 30 minutes-1 hour)

Step 7: One the cookie dough balls are chilled, begin to melt chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl over the stove until melted.

Step 8: Begin dipping the cookie dough balls into the chocolate using a toothpick or fork.

Step 9: Transfer the now chocolate covered cookie dough balls to the waxed paper surface. Add any garnish while the chocolate is still fresh.

Step 10: Chill the chocolate covered cookie dough truffles for approximately 1-2 hours.

Step 11: Enjoy!

I used the recipe and ingredients by this website, as I often use the recipes from this website as they are often delicious.
